The History and Mission of John Lamb Hill Oldridge

In this video, Directors Paula Steele and Ken Maxwell share the history of John Lamb Hill Oldridge (JLHO) and explain how our boutique firm supports clients today.

Learn about our journey and our highly specialised approach to managing significant Inheritance Tax liabilities:

The business was originally started by John Lamb in the late 1950s.

We operated as a generalist Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) catering to high-value clients from the 1950s through to 2019.

After selling the general IFA division in 2019, the firm transitioned into a specialist life insurance brokerage for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

We operate as a small boutique firm, which allows us to provide solid advice to our clients while supporting other professionals in our industry.

The vast majority of our clients purchase significant amounts of life insurance to manage the cash flow implications of Inheritance Tax.

While this strategy does not reduce the total tax owed, it allows clients to fund the tax over time, ensuring the cash is available exactly when it is needed.
