HEAD OF UNDERWRITING AND CLAIMS
Darren has responsibility for our in-house underwriting process. His broad role involves working closely with clients to discreetly understand their medical history and knows what information is required for placing high levels of cover. He has close relationships with the providers and reinsurers, which allows him to have sensible, upfront conversations with them on behalf of clients before we submit applications.
Darren gained his experience of underwriting at several insurers and re-insurers and at Lloyds of London, before becoming Director of Underwriting and Claims at Vitality. He is one of the most experienced underwriters in the UK market and is viewed as an authority in the world of underwriting. His credits include writing the UK underwriting manual on risks surrounding race car driving.
